Dust and Air Control
Dust is the universal complaint. Before demolition, seal doorways with zip-wall plastic, cover returns, and run a HEPA air scrubber in the work zone on negative pressure. Close the rest of the house off and change HVAC filters after the dusty phases.
The Temporary Kitchen
A microwave, hot plate, slow cooker, and a mini-fridge in another room keep life tolerable during a kitchen remodel. Set up a dishwashing station at a laundry sink or bathroom. Plan meals that need little prep for the weeks the real kitchen is offline.
Phasing for Livability
Sequence so you always retain a bedroom, a bathroom, and a clear path. If you must lose a bathroom, rent a portable unit or schedule the work for the days you are away. Stack the noisiest demolition early and save quiet finish work for evenings.
Safety for Kids and Pets
Keep children and pets away from open walls, tools, and trip hazards with barriers and supervision. Store chemicals and tools out of reach. A calm, contained site is safer and faster for the crew.
